Quinn Loftis is one of the original four authors that opened our Kindles up to the wonderful world of Indie authors. From the very first pages of Prince of Wolves we were hopelessly addicted to the Grey Wolves. We’ve loved everything she’s written since then from the contemporary Call me Crazy to the fantastic Elfin series. And I know we’ll be enjoying her stories for years to come!

Quinn Auth picQuinn lives in beautiful NW Arkansas with her husband, son, Doberman and cat (who thinks she is a ninja in disguise). She is beyond thankful that she has been blessed to be able to write full time and hopes the readers know how much all of their support means to her. Some of her hobbies include reading, exercising, crochet, and spending time with family and friends. She gives all credit of her success to God because he gave her the creative spirit and vivid imagination it takes to write.

Why did you decide to become a writer?

It’s something I’ve always loved to do. Writing has been one of the ways that I coped with difficult things especially when I was younger. Then it became a way for me to get all the creative thoughts in my head out. I love creating worlds that don’t exist, can’t exist, but ones that we want to spend a little time in them.

Who/what are your writing inspirations?

JK Rowling, C.S. Lewis, Patricia Briggs, Tolken, Jane Austen

What are your favorite genres to read?

YA Paranormal Romance, YA Fantasy Romance, I like some Stephen King, James Patterson, Dean Kunz

Favorite writing food / snack?

Chewy sweettart bites, Nerd Slush from Sonic

What do you hope readers take away most from your writing?

When a reader closed my book, either physically or on their device I want there to be emotions churning in them. I want them to think about it days later because it affected them that much. I hope that they see the things that I’m trying get across when it comes to healthy relationships and I hope that they fall in love with the characters like I have.

Who’s the favorite character of yours that you’ve written and why?

It’s a tie between Perizada and Candy (Call Me Crazy) Peri because she knows what she is capable of and is not afraid to do what is necessary in order to keep those under her care safe. She is honest to a fault, emotional though she doesn’t like anyone to see it and loyal. Candy because life has been so hard for her, she has endured much and yet she still tried to live life to the fullest. She was hilarious, honest, playful and willing to help someone younger than her cope with her situation. Candy is a 60 year old mental hospital patient in my contemporary novel Call Me Crazy.

What is your writing style? Outliner/Planner or Seat of the Pantser?

Total Seat of the Pantser. My characters write my books, as I’m typing it’s like the characters are making the story up as they go.

If someone wanted to become a writer, what tips would you give to them?

Write what you know (that means write what you enjoy and read a lot yourself). Do research, google should become your best friend. Get books on writing, Stephen King has some great books, James Scott Bell also has some fantastic books. Remember that you will improve with each book if you attempt to learn what can I do better this time.

Have you ever purchased something from a late-night infomercial? If so, what?

LOL no, I’m always reading late at night.

If you could collaborate with any other author(living, dead, or undead) who would that be and why?

Jane Austen

If you weren’t a writer, what would you do?

Sit around and grumble about not getting to be a writer.

Coke, Pepsi, or?

Coca Cola

What’s one thing people should know and/or don’t know about you?

(If they don’t know it there’s probably a reason and therefore shouldn’t know it… 😉 that said… Hmmm, well random things about me, I love the smell of scotch tape, if I love a book or series I will read it over and over and over like the energizer bunny up in here. I hum when I’m concentrating.
