This week we’re featuring Blogger Mandy Ireadindie, whom you’ve probably seen if you don’t know her already as she seems to be everywhere! We’ve been fortunate enough to run in several of the same bookish circles as Mandy so you know she’s got good taste. She’s also a fellow member of Lila Felix’s Rink Rats! *does the secret handshake*
Who the heck are you?
“Who the heck are you?” was going to be my lead in but you probably get that a lot, don’t you? I am no one interesting that is for sure. Just a stay at home mom to 3 girls who are no longer at home. All in electuary and middle school. Well, they are home now, because school is out. Anyhow. I will officially earn that title back in January when we welcome our 4th child into the world. But until then I am just a blogger who loves to read and review. Like I said…no one of interest.
Does your blog have a specific theme or genre that it focuses on?
Not really. I just read what I want. Most of the stuff now is authors I have worked with in the past as I am not taking on new authors. And those authors tend to write both Contemporary Romance and Paranormal. So it makes it interesting and shakes things up for me.
What led you to start blogging?
About 3 or so years ago, I just wanted something to do with my free time. So I would reveal covers and books that looked interesting. I didn’t review then. That came a bit later with K.A. Tucker harassed me enough. (I kid, I kid). But she was the one that got me thinking about it. And Twilightish (a major blog for the Twilight franchise) got a book in and asked if I was willing to review if for them. So together, these 2 officially started my love of reviewing. They gave me the kick in the pants I needed.
What do you love most about blogging?
All the people I met. If it wasn’t for blogging I would have never met the amazing Lila Felix. I love that girl with a fierceness like no other. Not to mention she is a fabulous author. My absolute fave!
What do you hate about blogging (or love least, if hate is too strong for you!)
Ugh. Sometimes it gets a bit catty in this business. But I run the blog myself and just do what I love. If it starts getting ugly, I move on and forget about it.
Do you participate in any blogging memes such as “waiting for Wednesday” or the like?
I used to. Then my calendar got to over-runned. So I stopped. I used to love Teaser Tuesday when we would give a teaser of the book we were reading at the moment.
You’re stuck in an elevator with one author, who is it!?
I want to say Lila Felix, but we’ve been stuck in some old ladies house (some granddaughter of a Coca Cola dude) and her Bible museum, but I think I would like to pick Rachel Higginson’s brain for a bit. Or do a lot of heavy breathing and staring at her.
Obviously you kind of like books. But TV? What are some of your favorites?
I am catching up on LOST and loving it. Absolutely loving it! And I will be glued to the tv when OUTLANDER premieres in August. *sigh*
What are your favorite genres to read? Why?
It has to have romance. Hands down. It can be about anything, but has to have romance. And if zombies happen to shamble by, that is ok too.
Do you have a single favorite book/series?
My heart will forever be drawn to the LOVE AND DECAY series by Rachel Higginson. I drop anything and everything when that puppy releases!
Blogging can be a little chaotic at times, do you have any tips or tricks for staying organized?
Just my trusty calendar. If I don’t write it down, it doesn’t get posted.
If we lived in a Fahrenheit 451 culture, which book would you want to memorize?
Oh lordy. Am I supposed to know what that is? Maybe OUTLANDER by Diana Gabaldon.
It’s hard to be around such talented writers without some of it rubbing off it seems. A number of bloggers are turning writer, or working on it. Is this true for you? If so, what’re you working on?
Nope. Although I was just complimented on a review I wrote a while back this past week. The emailer told me I should definitely write a book and they would buy it. But it just isn’t for me. I can’t think of all the crazy spins and twists that author’s do. If I hear a song or get an idea I usually send it Lila’s way and tell her to make it happen for me. lol
