SYNOPSIS

Two short paranormal romances to get your juices flowing!

Jazzy

Jazzy is denied a flight to Atlanta for her best friend’s funeral and, worse, hauled into an interrogation room within the airport. Security lets her go with nothing to hold her on and she makes the decision to drive to Georgia. Along the way she runs into trouble when Matt, the large muscular man who hauled her into interrogation, and a few comrades find her. Things get worse when a huge black bear with armor-like skin attacks them.
Together they must fight against the beast. Will they survive?

Esma Rose

After walking home with a complete stranger, Esma’s night grows even eerier when she finds her boyfriend dead on the couch of his home. The stranger who waits outside comforts her as police and crime scene tape circle the house.

Esma and the stranger grow closer. More real than life, she enters his dreams and the mystery takes a twist. Is she guilty, or the intended victim?

“In… the… back,” his raspy breath brought me out of the trance I’d been in watching this colossal, unbreakable beast thrash the crap out of them. What the hell was this thing? Our eyes locked, lying on the ground unloading his semi-automatic into the chest of the beast. As if bullets could harm it. The bear’s thick arm grabbed the weapon and pushed it into his chest.
He was so helpless, all his muscles and bullets wouldn’t do anything to save him, not unless they were sterling silver. “The… back,” he repeated, locking eyes with me as he attempted to push the beast off him. My cat felt his pain; it couldn’t watch him be destroyed. Claws distended from my fingers, my snout lengthened. The twisty-ties snapped and the tearing of cloth plunged into my ears as the rest of my body followed suit.
Matt’s eyes widened as he gawked at me. I leaped out of the vehicle, onto the bear’s back, digging my sharp-as-daggers claws into it and hitting metal-like skin. I pierced through it and it roared in anger and swung to throw me off but I curled my claws beneath its metallic skin. I fought to keep my grip as he thrust from side to side to shake me off.
He growled in pain then plunged his back towards a tree. Its bark breaking against my back causing pain to shoot up my spine. My back paws lost their grip. Using the tree for leverage, I dug my way further upwards towards his neck and sunk my teeth into it. He roared and swung me off him, blood coating my snout and dribbling onto my chest.
He galloped away from me through the woods. Branches cracking against his enormous mass. He was gone for now; wounded, but he’d be back. I had to get Matt and we needed to leave pronto. Shifting into my human form I ran back to Matt who stood beside the truck, a rifle in his hands, cocked towards me.
“What the hell are you? And what the fuck was that thing?” The gun unsteady in his shaking arms. The fabric of his shirt tattered, exposing signs of his bloody struggle.
What an ungrateful piece of crap. I save his life and this is what I get? “A thank you is in order, don’t you think?” I didn’t hide the sarcasm in my voice.
“Yeah, okay. Guess I owe that much.” His words filled with insincerity and his eyes roved my naked body.
“You can at least act like a gentleman and not gawk at me,” I seethed.
He raised his eyes away from my body and met my face.
“I am what I look like and I have no idea what that thing is. What I do know is I only wounded it and it’ll return. We need to get out of here now.” I stepped towards him then reached for the gun, pushing it out of my face.
“I’m not getting paid enough for this shit!” He dropped the gun to his side and limped towards the SUV.
I climbed into the back seat and collected my clothes. “Damnit,” I muttered, witnessing what was left of my jeans. Luckily my cowboy boots weren’t harmed. My shirt bore a rip straight down the middle. I put it on backwards, watching Matt in the rearview. His eyes took turns between me and the road, not that it mattered he’d already seen my rack.
“Why switch up to the rifle?” I asked as I clambered half-dressed into the passenger seat. The rifle resting upright against the center console.
He shrugged, his eyes taking me in. “I was told to use it in the worst situation. This seemed like that situation.”
“Do you mind?” as if I needed his permission.
“You saved my life so guess I owe you something.” I rolled my eyes. Why couldn’t men admit every so often that women weren’t helpless? Egotistical asshole.

I enjoyed this book. I loved the characters, especially in the first story. I loved the shifters  panthers. 🙂 The characters are well written and the story keeps your interest though the whole thing.

Why did you decide to become a writer?

It’s something I’ve always loved to do and with prompting from close friends I finally did it.

Who/what are your writing inspirations?

Chocolate, lots of chocolate and workouts. When exercising my mind won’t shut up so it gives me plenty of ideas.

What are your favorite genres to read?

Paranormal. I love an author who can create a believable fantasy and make it reality.

Favorite writing food / snack?

Chocolate again, followed up with tortilla chips and queso cheese.

What do you hope readers take away most from your writing?

Fun. A recipe that’s one part laughter, one part steamy, and one part suspense.

Who’s the favorite character of yours that you’ve written and why?

Esma Rose. Her story is in Winter Thrillz 2. She’s mysterious and a little creepy yet beautiful and highly attractive to men.

What is your writing style? Outliner/Planner or Seat of the Pantser?

Pantster.  When I get an idea for a story I start writing and see where it takes me. I hope the surprise in a plot twist is as surprising to the reader as it is to me.

If someone wanted to become a writer, what tips would you give to them?

Follow your dreams and write then hire an editor and buy a great cover. A cover says a lot about your book and you want people to be interested from first sight.

Have you ever purchased something from a late-night infomercial? If so, what?

No, I never have. Not on my bucket list either.

If you could collaborate with any other author(living, dead, or undead) who would that be and why?

Ann Rice. She’s the queen of vampire fiction. I’ve never met her but she seems real and I love her writing. I could learn a lot from her.

If you weren’t a writer, what would you do?

I also dabble in creative design, all self-taught. It’s a hobby and I use the skills to create all my own covers and teasers.

Coke, Pepsi, or?

I prefer Coke over Pepsi but mostly drink water or sweetened lemonade.

What’s one thing people should know and/or don’t know about you?

I’m easy going, light-hearted and cry every time I watch. Titanic, Pearl Harbor and the Notebook

Is there a character that has the most “You” in them? Or the opposite of you?

Meg from Talons. She’s a doctor and has an interest in science. She also doesn’t stop. I enjoy science and the mysteries of the natural world. I also don’t quit to I meet my goal.

Has anyone written a fan fiction based on your work?

No, I wish. Maybe one day. It would be a great honor.

*Is TL Katt a pen name? If so, why did you pick it?

It is a pen name and I chose it because I love cats. TL stands for teal, one of my favorite colors.

Have you used Beta Readers? If so, what did you think of your experience and would you recommend it to other authors?

A good beta reader is worth a million dollars. I think its necessary to have someone find the holes and make a story stronger. I’m biased of my work and can’t find the problems alone so yes, I’ve used beta readers.
