Maddox is running.
By accident, he discovered long ago that he was adopted as a baby and his need to find his biological father has consumed him ever since. Now, on a road trip, determined to find his father and his sanity, and armed with locations and his cousin, Nixon, to help him, maybe he can find the answers he’s been searching for. With nothing but a suitcase and a wad of cash to get him there, lead after lead takes him further from home.
But he’ll find much more than he intended.
He finds Storey, a pint sized pin-up model who has learned painful lessons about guys. Her wounds run deep, but so do his. She knows what she wants, but will she recognize it when it’s right in front of her?
Maddox can’t touch anyone without feeling like his skin is crawling, but just maybe his instinct to protect this amazing girl will supersede his own hang-ups.
If he can brush her skin and start to feel alive inside…everything will change.
Ok! Lila has done it again! She’s hit a grand slam! She has earned another 5 stars from my stingy 5 star self! 🙂
I have just finished reading Down N Derby! I have to say, like Love and Skate and How It Rolls – LOVED IT!!!!! These characters are so amazing, I just love and adore them. I feel like I really connect to them. I feel their pain, I feel their joy! Lila is an amazing writer. As with the other books in this series, I laughed and cried, I had a hard time putting it down, when I had to put it down to do this, that or the other.
In this story Maddox and Nixon take off on a road trip in search of Mad’s biological father. This search took to California, where he found the love of his life. The woman he needed most in his life. She helped heal him. Such a beautiful story.
OMG! The end of the book, writing about herself having dinner with the Black family! SO AWESOME!
Things I love about this book; reading the view points of the different characters, how the writing lets you connect with the characters, and feel like they friends, and it’s wow, I can’t even find the words. 🙂
The Love and Skate series has skated it’s way to my top 3 favorite series in books. I love it so much, I love it as much as I love the Grey Wolf Series by Quinn Loftis and the Significance series by Shelly Crane! Those 3 are my top favorite series now. But don’t ask me to order them. I don’t think I could! 🙂
