Our Author of the Month for October is Bella Roccaforte

Check out our little interview with Bella!

Why did you decide to become a writer?

I have always had a creative outlet. A long time ago I was in a band and loved to create music, but life and everything that goes along with it got in the way of that so I gave it up to be a mom! Then I would doodle; write some poetry here and there. I finally taught myself to paint. I love to paint, but I hate cleaning my brushes and oh my goodness the supplies are expensive.

Then one night after my husband had been furloughed from work for four months I decided it was time to challenge him. He’d been saying he was going to write a book since before we got married. He asked me what my evening plans were and I told him I was writing for an hour and that he should do the same.

Well, after a week I had written quite a lot, my husband read it. He called me a few select names and then told me I needed to publish it because it was really good. That’s how I started!

What do you love most about being a writer?

Talking to readers. I mean, I really love creating the stories and seeing where they go and what all the crazy characters do, but after having met some of my readers in person I really have to say my favorite part is them!

What are your favorite kinds of books to write/read?

Currently I’ve only written New Adult Paranormal Suspense. I like to read all kinds of books with young adult being pretty high on the list along with fantasy. My three favorite go to authors are C.S. Marks (Elfhunter trilogy), Addison Moore (Celestra series) and Sarra Cannon (Peachville High Demons). I have many other that I’m falling in love with but those are the three authors that I have actually taken the time to re-read their books!

Thank you Bella!

Bella

Bella’s motto has always been that you can choose to watch life pass you by or your can be the one spinning the world. You have to get out and live, life won’t come to you!

Bella has always seen things in the world with a different view and has been an avid story-teller. She is enjoying putting her crazy musings into print for others to enjoy.

Writing is just one of her passions. She also loves music, reading, but most of all spending time with her kiddos. She grew up in New England where her brother, sister and many nieces and nephews live. She has lived all over the country. She currently calls Atlanta, GA home.

To her, one of the most exciting parts of writing is getting a chance to interact with readers. It is truly her hope that readers will reach out and tell her what they like and even don’t like about her stories. She’s looking forward to a relationship with the readers to better write stories they will love.
