If you are looking for the sweet girl next door, you’re in the wrong place. Who you’ll find here is Elise Duchamp, the unabashed town whore of Gig Harbor. She’s reckless with who she gives her body to, but has her heart chained up, determined not to share it with anyone.
That is until the Ryder, the outdoorsy bibliophile shows up in her life, determined to find the key to unlock those chains, and try to show her that she’s not just a replacement.

I always find it funny when people in books are talking about their love of book kind of like they’re breaking the 4th wall without really doing so. It reminds me of the movie fans in scream, although it usually works out better for the book characters!
Rachael Wade takes us on a emotional roller coaster ride as she switches things up from steamy and hot to devastatingly heartbreaking in a few short sentences. There were a few scenes that fully qualify as tear jerking, but honestly I was too busy picking my jaw back up off of the ground.
