A Scavenger Hunt, a Bee, and a Childhood Dream at Knott’s Berry Farm

If you’re looking for something fun, mildly chaotic, and surprisingly challenging to do at Knott’s Berry Farm—this scavenger hunt delivers. It takes you all around the park, weaving through iconic spots like the Blacksmith, the Ghost Town graveyard, and Fiesta Village. Think less “casual stroll” and more “brain workout with steps.”

The puzzles? Tough. Like really tough. A little confusing. And somehow they only got harder as the day went on. We’re still not sure if the challenges escalated or if our brains slowly powered down as the hours passed. Probably both. 😂

The hints were… helpful-ish. When we finally caved and checked them, the “hint” was usually what we had already figured out on our own—just not enough to actually solve the puzzle. We didn’t want the answer handed to us, but another nudge in the right direction (especially for the more abstract clues) would have been amazing. That said, one of our favorite moments was figuring out the graveyard answer by completely thinking outside the box of where the clues seemed to be leading. Very satisfying. Gold star moment.

One thing we genuinely loved is that the scavenger hunt can be done without going into shops or getting on rides. On a busy park day like today, that’s a huge win. No lines, no crowds, just wandering the park and solving puzzles at our own pace. We do think it would be even smoother if the challenges were pre-labeled by park area or presented in a suggested order—but that’s more of a “nice-to-have” than a dealbreaker.

Tech-wise, the website worked great. It loaded quickly even with the park’s slower signal, which deserves a round of applause. The hint page was clearly broken down by location, hint, and answer—very organized—but again, we’d love to see an extra advanced hint option that stops short of revealing the solution entirely.

Now, let’s talk about the bee incident. Because there was a bee. And Fabulous Jen’s anxiety immediately clocked in for overtime. Thankfully, they had their Snoopy hat—the one with the squeezeable paws that make the ears flap. That little fidget absolutely saved the moment and helped them calm down enough for us to continue the hunt. Emotional support Snoopy for the win.

The prize at the end was a super cute little keychain, which felt like a fun victory token after hours of puzzle-solving. And honestly? Hours of fun is exactly what this was.

Overall, this scavenger hunt was challenging, engaging, occasionally frustrating, and genuinely fun. A few tweaks to the hint system and puzzle flow could make it even better—but even as-is, it’s a fantastic way to experience Knott’s Berry Farm in a totally different way. Just maybe bring a fidget… and watch out for bees. 🐝

So grab your walking shoes, charge your phone, maybe pack an emotional-support Snoopy… and get your hunt on at Knott’s Berry Farm—or, if you’re a Disney geek, take those skills to Disneyland and see how you do. 😏✨
