Review

“I am Mark Moretti. Forever a bachelor.”

I really enjoyed the first half of this book. We’re introduced to the “Bad Boys of Beverly Hills” and most of the major characters in the book in a nice defining prologue before we get down to the story at hand. From here things play out rather enjoyably. A lot of playful banter, frolicking in the sun, a bit of drama, and some spicy scenes. Almost reminds me of an American Pie movie at this point.

But then I see it. Coming down the road. It’s big. It’s nasty. It’s going to get messy. Everything is going well and I can just see everyone is about to get really stupid. Yup, there they go. Everyone ate a big bowl of stupid. Two thirds of his surprise would have been awesome. The other part I can’t believe anyone would think that’s a good idea! And her! When the guy who has the hots for you and would love nothing less than to see you broken up is telling you stuff that’s going to break you up.. don’t listen to it! I just wanted to run around smacking people in the head like Gibbs at a NCIS conference. I mean who doesn’t love a little drama? But it was almost the exact same thing as earlier in the book, did they learn nothing!?

Now I’m not telling you anything you didn’t expect to happen at this point. The drama is resolved and hopefully a happily ever after for our couple? Let’s hope so! And Hey! I like that song!

The title really could have been called “Baggage” Because his baggage from his reputation and her baggage from her past relationship was what really needed to be tamed.

This book was for the most part a great, fun read with some hot smutty scenes. And honestly, the book would have been just fine without them. I got a little lost at times due to the formatting of the dialogue and one instance where the wrong characters name was used, nothing serious enough to really detract from it but I hope that improves going forward in the series. And I really like these characters, so I’m exceedingly happy that there’s going to be several books with them and I can’t wait for them to come out!
