For today’s Feature Friday we’re featuring a blog – My Book Addiction.

What led you to start blogging? I started blogging about 15 years ago. It started out as an online diary of sorts, then progressed to themed blogs. I’ve written about everything from cloth diapering to being a home chef and teaching my little ones tips and tricks in the kitchen, and now I’m blogging about books.

What do you love most about blogging? Well, there are a lot of things I love about blogging, of course, otherwise I wouldn’t still be doing it after this many years. What I love the most is probably the connection to the outside world it gives me, to people I would never “meet” otherwise. Specifically to this blog – My Book Addiction – I also feel that reading as much as I do and writing reviews has taught me to be a better writer.

What do you hate about blogging (or love least, if hate is too strong for you!) It can be overwhelming at times, especially when I have so many other things I want to do – like finish writing my book, but I still love doing it.

You’re stuck in an elevator with one author, who is it!? This is not an easy question to answer. There are so many authors I would love to be stuck in an elevator with. OK, that may not have come out the way I had intended. lol. My initial thought was to choose Jonathan Maberry, because he’s an interesting fella and remarkable author that I could learn a lot from in the time I would have to pick his brain – hehe, pun intended. My next thought, though, is Claire C. Riley! Why? Because she is also a fabulous author of zombie fiction, who I could also gain vast amounts of knowledge from, plus I am pretty certain she and I would find a way to have a blast no matter where we were stuck. She is so quirky and fun and all around bloody fabulous.

Obviously you kind of like books. But TV? What are some of your favorites? There are a lot of great television shows out there these days. It’s really a shame, too, because that’s another distraction I don’t need in my life while trying to finish writing a book. Just a few of my favorites include The Walking Dead (even though season four didn’t live up to my expectations), Orange is the New Black, Game of Thrones, Parenthood, and Nashville.

What are your favorite genres to read? Why? Post-apocalyptic/Horror/Zombies — it’s just my thing. It’s like an extension of my own twisted mind. Ha! I also enjoy dystopian, contemporary romance, some science fiction, and I’m very picky about paranormal. I’ve grown tired of the vampire scene and I’ve never been a huge fan of werewolves, but I do enjoy a unique paranormal story – whether it be about ghosts, astral projection, or anything that isn’t overdone.

Do you have a single favorite book/series? Ha! That would be like asking me which of my children is my favorite. Every book that goes on my “favorite” list is special, and I have favorites in different genres so it’s not fair to compare one to the other. I’m going to plead the fifth on this one, but if you’d like to keep track of which books I add to my Favorite Reads list, I have a board for that on Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/mybookaddiction/favorite-reads-of-2014/
